I'm Kait, owner of In Good Company - with my fiance (!!!) Em + our pup, Luna! You'll see me in the shop Wednesday - Sunday while Em works another full time job and you can catch her here on the weekends! Now that you're here, I wanted to share a little bit about why we opened In Good Company. Along our journey, you'll mostly hear from me (Kait!) but know that Emily is always right beside me and nothing In Good Company could be done without her!
Why In Good Company?
As a young girl, my mom let me tag along on her weekend treasure hunts—falling in love with each little shop along the way; the one with the hand cut soap, the one in the old barn, especially the one with the stencil art. My dad took me on treasure hunts too—collecting shells & sea glass from the coastline. It’s why I love the beach.
There is something special in the discovery, don’t you think? In finding the perfect little treasure.
In 2011, I fell in love again—this time with Southie. From charming brownstones to bustling Broadway, I found the perfect blend of city-with-a-neighborhood-feel place to call home (AND an entire street filled with small business treasures!).
When the pandemic hit, I held my breath as some of those small businesses closed, the community distanced, the treasure hunt paused. But with new breath came clarity—more than ever, the community needed a space inspired by the good of being together—the discovery together.
In Good Company will always be a place for the South Boston community to share in kindness. We’ll share goods from local makers & other small businesses we love. We'll host events to spark your creative spirit (we know it’s in there!) and most importantly we will be here—for all you, just in case you need us!
